Overview
Oh! Japan is a streamlined HR web application built for a Japanese company to help employers manage key employee processes such as leave requests, consultations, payslips, and internal assistance inquiries. Designed as an intuitive dashboard, the platform enables teams to handle day-to-day HR tasks with clarity, speed, and structure.
My role covered the complete UI/UX design of all required screens, ensuring every interaction felt seamless and aligned with the needs of both employees and HR personnel. Alongside design, I developed the frontend of the application and established a simple but cohesive brand identity that matched the company’s values and workflow.
Challenges
The main challenge was translating complex HR processes into a layout simple enough for all users—regardless of technical familiarity—to navigate easily. The app needed a structure that reduced friction, offered clear pathways for requests, and eliminated confusion during routine tasks like submitting leaves or checking payslips.
Another challenge involved building a scalable design system from scratch that maintained consistency across multiple screens and modules. With features expanding over time, the UI needed flexibility while still delivering a polished, unified experience across the entire dashboard.

This project gave me an opportunity to explore how HR tools can be redesigned to feel more humane, intuitive, and visually structured. It remains one of the projects that strengthened my confidence in designing functional, user-centered systems for real-world business needs.
